Some changes

So, I've been thinking.

What is this blog all about?  I share a recipe, a pretty picture every now and then, maybe some tasty links.  Is that it?  It can't be it.

From now on I want  this blog to be my virtual kitchen.  You visit, I make you something, we talk about life, and we become friends.

While I can't promise that I'll be posting more than I currently do, I'm making it my mission to write better quality posts.  No more beating around the bush.  No more posts telling you about the weather or how many homework assignments I have.

No, enough small talk.  It's time I got to know you and you got to know me.

Let's start over.  Let's start with a new and improved introduction.

And, I'd love to hear from you, dear readers!

What would you like to see on this blog?

If you'd be so kind, leave me a comment and let me know :)

  1. It can be kinda tough finding a blog focus. What I particularly like to see is people cooking 2 kinds of things. First, the things they enjoy eating on a regular or semi-regular basis (most people only make their favorite Christmas cookies once a year, for instance). Second, the new things that catch your eye that you'd like to try. I love Kimchi, for example, but have never gotten around to making it - that's one of my projects this year. Anyway, I enjoy the blog - keep up the good work.

  2. You are posting for others to see, but you should be enjoying it too. If just recipes and pictures do not seem like enough, try some blog hops which help you get to know some other food bloggers. There is secret recipe club, muffin mondays...the list goes on. You also should decide if you are going to do every type of food or just savory or just baked goods, then you can concentrate on that group of food bloggers. There is also the restaurant review angle. Hope this has given you some ideas!

  3. I love the new design of your site and your new approach. I love reading blogs by other young people because we share a similar lifestyle. I feel that I can connect with them on more levels and that the recipes are usually more suited to my tastes, amount of free time, and cost of ingredients. That being said, any recipes that are fairly easy and quick are always good to see on a blog. :)

  4. Aw, I liked your blog as it was before--not to say that I don't like the changes, but I don't think writing about the weather or homework is such a terrible thing! :) It's what's going on in your life, you know? The best advice I got from a big blogger has been to make sure my voice comes through in every post I write and I think you do that!

  5. Thank you, Allison, I concur :) Easy, quick, and relatively cheap (and of course tasty) equates to a winning meal for a college student haha.

  6. Thanks for your comment, Kiersten. I appreciate the feedback! I agree that voice is important--for any piece of writing, really. I guess I am still trying to find that as I write this blog. I hope you all will bear with me as I do that :)

  7. Thanks for the tips, Tina. I haven't looked into blog hops, but I might consider it now that you've mentioned it!
